Choerospondias axillaris, known as Lapsi in the country of Nepal, is plant in the family Anacardiaceae. It is found only in the highlands of Nepal.[citation needed] Much like a mango, its fruit is comprised of a seed that is hard and covered with a soft whitish flesh. The flesh is covered with green skin. The seed is as big as olive and the whole fruit is as big as a date. There are various delicacies that stem out of this sour fruit. It is typically used in Nepal to make pickle and spiced candy - often combined sweet, sour, salty and hot flavors often in one recipe.
