This specie is similar to Tacca Chantrieri. (The main botanical difference is in the slight variations in color and in having the involucral bracts in 4 and being variable, versus Chantrieri having 2). The scape is gray, brown, and purple with flowers a blackish purple. The leaf blades are 2" long and 10" wide having a petiole to 6' with an oblong - linear shape and handsome purple veining throughout. Its filiferous "whiskers" hang to 14". Requires constant warmth and high humidity
